Privacy Policy

To make the app work, we collect:

• Phone number: used to sign you in. That's the whole reason we have it.
• Profile: your name, username, and profile photo.
• Content you create : hangs, ideas, comments, reactions, photos, and GIFs you post.
• Push notification tokens : these let us tell you when friends hop in or a plan gets a date.
• Crash and error diagnostics : collected via Sentry so we can fix bugs. Phone numbers are never sent to Sentry.
• Usage and device info : basic details like device type and app version, to keep things running smoothly.

Your data is stored and processed on Google Firebase: Firestore for data, Cloud Functions for logic, and Cloud Storage for photos. When you search for a GIF, your search query and user ID are sent to KLIPY (our GIF provider) so results can be content-filtered appropriately.

• We never upload or access your contacts.
• We show no ads.
• We never sell your data. To anyone. Ever.

Only the people and groups you share with. An idea you share with “LA Besties” is visible to LA Besties, not the world. If you block someone, they can't see your content or contact you through the app.

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account (in-app: Settings → Delete Account), your personal information is anonymized. Your name, username, photo, and phone number are removed from your past activity.

Hangaroo isn't for kids under 13. If we learn someone under 13 has an account, we'll delete it.

• Turn notification types on or off in settings.
• Block anyone, anytime.
• Report content or people that shouldn't be there.
• Delete your account whenever you want.

If we change how we handle your data in a meaningful way, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
